Mission Statement

The Metropolitan Choral Festival will focus on bringing to the diverse residents of the Denver metropolitan area an annual free concert of major choral works.  Each concert will be presented by area volunteer, non-auditioned singers joined by some of the area's finest professional musicians and vocal soloists.  Our annual concert will focus on three key elements:

1) Providing music education opportunities for our young singers

We are committed to providing opportunities to the next generation of young musicians

to fully express their talents, helping ensure the continued healthy future and vitality of

music and the arts in the Denver metropolitan area

2) Providing personal growth opportunities for our adult singers

By joining amateur voices under professional direction into a body large and diverse

enough to perform with the best of professionals, we are affording a singing experience

that would otherwise be virtually impossible.  Regardless of the degree of prior

experience, singers benefit from professionally led rehearsals that go beyond the

acquisition of musical notes to cultivation of sound choral technique and an

understanding of the background and artistic framework of the works being performed.

3) Providing wide access to both audience and singers

By offering a concert that is free of charge, while maintaining excellence in performance

standards, we will provide music lovers (and future music lovers) an affordable family-

friendly environment that encourages attendance by many who have never experienced

            a live orchestra performance before.
